5 Quick Ways to Shake Things Up & Add Colour to a Bathroom

There are many ways to bring life to your bathroom, no matter how tight your budget is.

1. How to begin with colour

Take inspiration from a colour in your bathroom that you love and make alterations. You could use some vibrant Moroccan tiles, a colourful shower curtain, or a painted mirror.

2. Paint!

A quick and inexpensive way to bring life to your bathroom is to paint. Bathrooms can serve as a sanctuary, a place of relaxation, or a place where you refresh and begin the day. So think about what colours you choose and how you want them to feel. To create a calm atmosphere, use calming colours such as pale blues, greens, and greys.

To create a relaxing spa-like space, you can paint the entire room, including the ceiling. Sunny yellows are warm and versatile. To add drama and interest, you can paint one wall in a bright or dark colour to create a focal point. If you don't have the budget to replace your tiles, you can use brightly coloured paints to paint the old ones. Or why not paint your doors and skirts a striking colour?

3. Learn how to use colour

Choose your colours, then experiment with the hues and tones. Place the samples at least three feet apart to don't mix. Place paint samples on a card and place them in different areas of the room. You can place the paint swatches in a dark area, near a window. However, the same colour can change depending on where you put it. Brighter walls can reflect light more effectively and make small spaces feel larger and more open. However, vibrant colours can be playful and fun. Your bathroom is not the only room you need! You can make it look like any other room in the house by adding pattern, colour, and texture with wallpaper, fabric, paint, tiles, and fixtures.

4. Furniture

Modern ways to add colour to your bathroom are to change the taps, tubs, and basins. Add colourful taps to your bath, such as a matt black mixer tap, or you can get a pair of ceramic white or black crosshead taps. Another option is to paint the bottom of a freestanding bathtub in a brighter colour. This adds a splash of colour to an otherwise neutral bathroom.

5. Accessory

A few accessories of colour can make a big difference. Succulents and lush green plants are an easy way to add colour to bathrooms. Hang some colourful wall art and replace those boring, beige towels with something more vibrant. You can brighten up your bathroom with a towel rail or a gold traditional bathroom radiator. Or you can use colourful tiles to draw people's attention to the splashback or shower area. If your budget is modest, go for shower wall panels as they come in vibrant finishes with glitter.
